Privacy Policy

Magly ("Magly", "we", "us") operates a social network, gaming arena and utility workspace at magly.xyz. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who helps us run Magly, and the choices you have. By using Magly you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

• Account data: your email address or Google sign-in details, name, username, bio and profile picture. We never store your password in readable form.
• Content you create: posts, pictures, stories, comments and likes, along with who can see each post (Public, Friends or Private).
• Connections: who you follow, who follows you, people you block, and reports you send.
• Messages: private messages you send, stored only temporarily (see section 5).
• Notifications and settings: your notifications, and your privacy and notification choices.
• Support messages: messages you send through the Help Center and the email address you give so we can reply.
• Fact-check text: the claim you type into Magly Check (see section 4).
• Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and cookies or similar technologies.

2. How We Use Information

• To create and run your account, profile, feed, stories, chats and notifications.
• To keep Magly safe: preventing abuse, spam and cheating, and reviewing reports.
• To respond to support requests.
• To understand how Magly is used so we can improve it (see section 3).
• To show advertising, now or in the future (see section 6).

3. Usage Counts

We count how many times the website, tool categories, games, the daily challenge and Magly Check are used, per day. These counts are anonymous totals: they do not say who used what. To avoid counting the same device many times, your browser stores a small once-a-day marker on your device. For signed-in accounts we also record which days an account was active (not what the person did) so we can count daily, weekly and monthly active users. These day records are kept for about 90 days, after which only anonymous totals remain. We also use privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) that count page views and performance without cookies and without tracking you across sites.

4. Services That Help Us (Third Parties)

• Supabase stores accounts, content and files, and handles sign-in.
• Vercel hosts the website.
• Google provides Google sign-in, the Fact Check Tools service used by Magly Check, and may provide AdSense advertising.
• AI providers through OpenRouter receive the claim text you enter in Magly Check so they can write an AI-assisted answer. We do not store that text. AI answers can be wrong.
• FormSubmit delivers support and feedback messages to our inbox.
• Marketplace partners: listings, including jobs, courses and products, come from third parties and link to their own websites, which have their own privacy policies. Some links are sponsored or affiliate links, and we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Our productivity tools are designed to process files in your browser wherever possible.

5. Private Messages and Stories

Messages are stored on our servers only so they can be delivered. They are deleted automatically once both people have left the chat for the time chosen in that chat (5 minutes, 30 minutes or 1 hour; the default is 30 minutes). Messages are protected in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our hosting provider, but they are not end-to-end encrypted, and because they are deleted automatically we generally cannot recover them. Stories disappear for everyone after 24 hours, and their pictures are removed automatically shortly afterwards. If you report a user or a message, the details in your report may be reviewed and kept by our team.

6. Advertising and Cookies

Magly uses, or may in the future use, Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies, including the DART cookie, to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of the DART cookie in the Google Ad and Content Network privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads, manage personalized ads at https://adssettings.google.com, and learn about other networks at https://www.aboutads.info/choices. We also use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your theme, language and level choices. You can control cookies in your browser settings, but some features may stop working.

7. Your Privacy Controls

In Settings you can make your account private, hide your following list, choose who can message you, turn read receipts and notifications on or off, and block people. Blocked people cannot see your posts, follow you or message you.

8. Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. It is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and at rest by our hosting providers, and access is limited by sign-in and database access rules. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Retention and Deleting Your Account

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account yourself at any time in Settings by choosing Delete my account and typing DELETE. This permanently removes your profile, posts, stories, comments, likes, follows, messages, notifications and pictures. We may keep limited records we need for safety or legal reasons, such as reports made about an account, and copies in our hosting provider's backups may remain for a limited time before they are overwritten. Notifications older than 30 days are deleted automatically.

10. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Magly is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us at support@magly.xyz and we will delete it promptly.

11. Your Rights (GDPR and CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. You can edit your profile in Settings and delete your account yourself. To request a copy of your data or ask a question, contact support@magly.xyz. We will verify your identity and respond within the time required by law. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

12. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows the latest version, and material changes will be highlighted on the platform.
